People of Athens

So I live in Athens now. My work is very close to the Panepistimio metro station. As it is the very center of Athens here are a lot of white-collar workers walking around on the streets. And to be honest, I`m dying for all those handsome men in the suits freely walking beside me. ๐Ÿ™‚ It`s true that Greeks are one of the most gorgeous men on the planet and Athens is a perfect place to meet most of them at the same time.

Another thing that is still funny for me here – all the girls/women color their toe nails. And with “all” I really mean ALL. Once I was in the metro counting females with unpolished toes. I found 2(!!!). 2 out of many women who were with me in the metro! And it doesn`t make any difference if you`re beautiful or not, if you`re fit or fat, if you`ve nice toes or not.. You just paint them in all the bright colors you can imagine!

Now in September all Athenian are back from August holidays and the city is again full with cars and people. Motorbike seems the perfect solution, but under the burning Greek sun… I don`t think so ๐Ÿ™‚

I was in Kolonaki yesterday late evening. Kolonaki is a posh district of Athens, where you can find all the rich/famous people, all the expensive coffees, all branded clothes and latest models of famous cars. The funny thing about being there that late, was that it seemed to me that the favorite attraction of the young ladies was to walk from one closed shop to another, watching the shop windows and discussing the latest buys you`ve made or your friends/enemies did. It looked like a kind ofย  “wanna be rich” TV show where you choose something, that you`ll maybe never get. Funny.

Generally Athenians are great people. Everybody from outside will tell you that they are very different than people from islands. And that is true, but not in a bad way, at least for me. They are just different. They maybe rush somewhere all the time, but ok, it`s a big city. But they still take time for countless coffees and talks. And trust me, one of the things Greeks to best – they TALK! Always, everywhere to almost everybody ๐Ÿ™‚ So don`t be afraid to ask!

And to finish this post with something totally fun – here you go Greece paid pensions to the dead”! ๐Ÿ™‚ Follow this link!
